S&R Appraisal Service is a leader when it comes to technology
Here at S&R Appraisal Service, we always strive to be on the forefront of appraisal technology. From smart phones, to laptops, GPS, you name it. Call us geeks. Call us nerds. Call us what you will, but by all means, call us at 818-700-1368! Why? We're glad you asked.
While appraisal fees haven't necessarily gone up over the years, the demands placed on individual appraisers have. Cutting corners on analysis isn't an option for an ethical appraiser. Therefore, the logical place to save time is in our daily workflow. Our continuous efforts to be the best have convinced us that keeping up with new technology allows us to bring you more credible reports, quicker turnaround times and of course, the very best in customer service.
In the past, a great deal of orders were ordered via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we arrived at the office. Often, in this scenario, it might of taken hours to hear back to see if the order could be taken. These days, when orders are entered on this website, we get a text message on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
Ordering and Tracking
When you order an appraisal, you can expect us to be concerned about your deadlines. We don't make you wait around for replies because we understand the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. Through features on this website, we can actually reduce the amount of time needed for your appraisal.
Using Technology in the Field
The appraisal process is nothing if not a data intensive procedure. We spend a great deal of time obtaining the facts on the subject property and the local market data and trends. We take advantage of technology to close the gap once again.
Rather than using that clumsy old tape measure, more and more appraisers are utilizing laser measuring devices that are quicker, more accurate, and can get into places that normal tape measures have always had problems with.
We combine different technologies to ensure that your final report is thorough and without error, requiring fewer call-backs and revisions. A real money saver for busy appraisal clients.
Modern appraisal report delivery ensures our clients have a number of ways to get their report
At a very minimum, you can expect us to deliver your final report electronically as a PDF. Generally our clients are most comfortable with receiving PDFs attached to their e-mail. It's much more efficient than the old days when everything was on paper. But, we've even been able to innovate report delivery with this website.
Everyone knows how frustrating it is to lose a file. Or have you ever had problems sending or receiving an e-mail because it was too big? We've come up with a solution for those problems, too. When we deliver an appraisal through this website, the client gets a link sent to their email to retrieve the PDF. So, at that point, it doesn't matter if all the extra photos and maps in the report result in a large file that would normally be blocked by e-mail. And the best thing is that the file will be hosted on this site for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again without even calling us or waiting for us to get to a computer so we can send it again.
We simplify things by using Digital Workfiles
It would be great if appraisers could never have to think about an assignment again after writing and giving it to the client. However, appraisals are employed to document the condition of a property on the inspection date. Therefore, appraisers must keep their reports for 5 years, allowing them to recall any appraisal at any time to either defend the valuation or to be used in other legal proceedings.
To sum it all up, we use all the technology available to us to improve service. By storing every aspect of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we skip the paper file folders and only need our computer to recall exactly what that job was about.
We just wanted to give you a little bit of insight into how we use our technology daily. Using the right software, services, gadgets and gizmos allows the appraiser to collect the appraisal data to finish the report faster and more accurately than previously possible.
